As you know, the Civic got a makeover last summer. The 2022 model that's coming our way is the best ever, no doubt about it. Of course, you might think we're biased towards this car. You may have a point, but you have to understand one thing; it hasn't managed to be the best selling car in the country for 24 years by accident.

It must have something special.

To prove it, let's take a look at the awards it's recently received left and right across the industry, awards that prove conclusively that it's the best in its class.

First, the Civic was recognized as one of three vehicles of the year by the NACTOY jury, the North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year. The jury is made up of North American journalists who have the opportunity to test drive all new models on the market, even before they make their debut in the mass media.

This is by far the most prestigious award. One is for the Utility Vehicle of the Year, one for the Pickup Truck of the Year and one for the Car of the Year, in this case the 2022 Honda Civic.

Then, in Canada, it was the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada, AJAC, that chose the Honda Civic as the best in the best small car category.

The same honor was bestowed by the Auto Hebdo/Auto Trader group.

And the icing on the cake was recognition from the Canadian Black Book, the organization that evaluates the residual value of vehicles on the market. Once again, the Honda Civic has been recognized as the best of the best.

Now that's recognition that doesn't lie. One award is good. Two is better. A handful, as the Civic is wont to collect, just tells us that we're in the presence of a classic.
